Boy Scout Troop 19 to sell Christmas Trees | News
Many people are already starting to think about decorating their homes for Christmas. And if you are wondering where to get your tree this year why not visit Boy Scout Troop 19.
The boy scouts will once again be selling premium Christmas trees and wreaths at Asbury First United Methodist Church on East Avenue. They will be selling the trees and wreaths from Saturday November 27 through Christmas Eve. The hours and days of operation are Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 4:30-9:30pm; Saturdays from 9am-9:30pm and Sundays from 9am to 7pm. Trees range from $25 to $65 with wreaths priced at $20.
The troop, one of the oldest troops in the area, celebrated its 91st anniversary this past September and has been selling Christmas trees in Rochester since 1951. It missed only one year in 2006 when it lost its longtime and well-known location on the corner of University and Culver Avenues, and couldn't find another in time. In 2007, however, First United Methodist Church became the troop's new sponsor, and offered its Granger Place lot (corner of Granger Place and East Avenue) for the annual tree sale.
Proceeds from the sale will fund Troop 19's weekend campouts and all trips during the next year.
