U.S. Senator candidate in Rochester | News
He wants to be New York's next U.S. Senator.
His name is Bruce Blakeman. Blakeman is a life-long Republican and he's hoping to defeat current Senator Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand in November.
But first, Blakeman faces a September primary against two other Republican candidates for the nomination.
Blakeman toured "Flower City Printing" on Mount Read Boulevard Wednesday morning.
He says he's running for the U.S. Senate because he's frustrated with politics in our state and he wants to help businesses.
"I am coming up here to learn from them, and I'm coming up here to sit down and talk about solutions in a collaborative effort. Not to point my finger at and tell them what I think is best for Rochester," said Blakeman.
Blakeman is an attorney and former Nassau County Legislator.
He says he likes coming to Rochester because of the Italian restaurants and he has dear friends who live here.
