Rochester teen facing charges after leading police on foot chase | Crime
A Rochester teen is facing charges after leading police officers on a foot chase early Monday morning on Lyell Avenue.
Sixteen-year-old Anthony Ortiz is charged with criminal possession, use of a weapon and assault.
Officers were called to Lyell Avenue just after 2 a.m. after a shotspotter in the area went off. Witnesses described Ortiz to police, as he drove off on a dirt bike.
Officers say as they followed Ortiz, he ditched the dirt bike and the gun and started running.
Police caught up to him but during the chase, one officer fell over a fence and sprained his shoulder. He's expected to make a full recovery.
