A 23-year-old Rochester man is facing charges after a standoff on Cottage Street Monday morning.
Rochester Police say it started when they responded to a home on Scottsville Road for the report of a person shot. According to investigators, the 22-year-old victim told them she was with her boyfriend at his home on Cottage Street when they got into a fight. She told police as she was leaving his home, she heard several gunshots and saw bullet holes in her car.
Officers then went to 66 Cottage Street and were able to talk three people out of the home. Police say two males, Brian Weaver and his 21-year-old brother Korey, refused to come out.
Brian Weaver eventually exited the home but Korey Weaver had to be removed from the home by the Emergency Task Force. Police say Korey Weaver was hiding in the basement because he had an outstanding warrant for traffic violations.
Police say two handguns were recovered but they are not sure if those weapons were used to shoot at the victim’s car.
Brian Weaver is charged with attempted assault and reckless endangerment. He was arraigned in Rochester City Court Tuesday morning.
