Rochester man arrested after traffic stop in Wayne County

A 23-year-old Rochester man is in the Wayne County Jail following a traffic stop in the Town of Williamson.

Sheriff’s Deputies say Adam Cook was operating his vehicle while his license was revoked and was in the possession of a collapsible baton.

He was arraigned on charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a weapon and remanded to the Wayne County Jail.
 

Deputies: Rochester man stole two polo shirts from Macy's

A 33-year-old Rochester man is has been arrested on petit larceny charges.

Sheriff’s Deputies in Ontario County say Michael Anthony Papalia stole two shirts valued at $179 from Macy’s at Eastview Mall.

Papalia was arraigned and remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of bail.
 

Rochester man charged with criminal mischief, petit larceny

A 20-year-old Rochester man is accused of removing a security sensor from jewelry and leaving the store without paying.

Matthew Denk is charged with criminal mischief and petit larceny.

Sheriff’s Deputies say Denk removed the sensor off of a watch and necklace from Lord & Taylor at Eastview Mall. The value of both items was $296.68.

Denk was issued several appearance tickets and is due in court at a later date to answer to the charges.

Police ID man found dead near Genesee River

Rochester Police have identified the man found dead near the Genesee River last Friday.

The body of 31-year-old Tom Lytton Carr was found by an RG&E crew working at their substation on Brewer Street on Friday just after 8:00a.m.

Investigators say there was no signs of trauma. They also say Carr was homeless and liked to live down by the river. Investigators do not suspect foul play.

 

Rochester man charged with assaulting two police officers

A Rochester man is facing charges following an incident involving two police officers.

Rochester Police say the landlord of a property on Lake Avenue called officers to remove a man who regularly sleeps in the hallways of the property.

When officers attempted to take the man – Anthony Giles – into custody, police say he flung his arms, pinning the officers against the wall. According to police, Giles then fought with the officers, tumbled down a set of stairs and then ran away from the apartment building.

Two officers were treated for contusions; a third officer was uninjured.

Giles was later taken into custody and charged with assault, criminal obstruction of breathing and resisting arrest.

Two people charged with unlawful possession of marijuana

Two people have been charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies say they stopped 20-year-old Danielle Manzi of Victor and 22-year-old Colin Axel of Rochester on Mertensia Road during a road check and found marijuana in their possession.

Both were issued appearance tickets.
 

Rochester man charged with DWI in Gates

A 32-year-old Rochester man has been charged with driving drunk.

State Police say they stopped Terrell Holliday on Interstate 390 in Gates for moving from the lane unsafely. Troopers say there was a strong odor of alcohol coming from him. According to police, he had a BAC of .13%.

He was issued tickets and is due in Gates Town Court at a later date.
