Driver in deadly hit-and-run to be sentenced
A man convicted in a deadly hit-and-run crash is expected to learn his punishment Thursday.
Matthew Norstrand, of Pavilion, Genesee County, is scheduled to be sentenced at 9:30 a.m.
A jury found Norstrand guilty earlier this year of leaving the scene of a crash on East Main Street near Alexander Street in March of 2011. Norstrand 41-year-old Richard Strapp, who was crossing the street. Strapp died several hours later from his injuries. Norstrand reported his vehicle stolen after taking off from the crash, which led to his arrest.
Norstrand faces up to seven years in prison.
