The School of the Arts continues the start of  2011-2012 season this weekend with the production of Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps. Aquinas athlete shares message against bullying with elementary school students in Hilton

Fifth and sixth graders at Northwood Elementary in Hilton have been learning about how to prevent bullying. Today, a very special high school student came in to talk to them about being bullied himself.

He's got the trophy, the championship ring and award for most valuable player. To the fifth and sixth graders at Northwood Elementary, Billy Lombardi is pretty much a hero.

Lombardi plays varsity football and lacrosse at Aquinas High School and he already has a scholarship to play lacrosse at Penn State. But to this sports star, success hasn't always been easy. “I was told when I was younger and even still today that I’m too short to do something or to play a sport.”

At 5’7”, 192 pounds, Lombardi is on the short side for high school sports but even shorter by Division 1 sports standards. It's something he's been teased about since he was young. “Height hasn't stopped me yet.

Announcement of troop withdrawal is welcoming news for military families

Announcement of troop withdrawal is welcoming news for military families

Friday afternoon, President Obama announced all troops in Iraq will be home before the year is out. Mr. Obama also had a private video conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki -- saying the two had agreed on the decision.

The announcement is welcome news for thousands of military families and troops.

It can be a tough adjustment to make and even though soldiers are coming home, Colonel James McDonough says it doesn't mean they're all here to stay. In fact, there's a good chance many of them will be deployed to Afghanistan.

But McDonough says he thinks this is a good move by the president and a very exciting time for families of soldiers, who've been waiting for this day for years.

McDonough says after the honeymoon phase of reuniting with family is over, it’s normal for the stress of life to hit these veterans and it’s important they seek help during the adjustment phase.
