Tailor made suits from Rochester will take center stage in London as part of NBC’s broadcast of the 2012 Olympics.

Look for the Hickey Freeman signature suits on the announcers and commentators in London. People like Al Michaels, Bob Costas and Jimmy Fallon.

Rochester institution Hickey Freeman is all about quality and that quality is going to London.

John Diacatos, Hickey Freeman Vice President of Manufacturing said, “Here you have two garments. One is for Jimmy Fallon. Jimmy is going to do his own little take on the Olympics.”

Jimmy Fallon is the late night host on NBC.

Diacatos said, “Jimmy Fallon wears a 41 regular. And he’s basically wearing a mahogany model, one of our B series models. It’s a natural shoulder, low shoulder garment. It’s a very traditional make.”

Al Michaels and Bob Costas could also benefit from a Hickey Freeman suit. All the NBC crew had to be specially measured and fitted.

Cash mob hits Rochester on Thursday

It rhymes with flash mob, but there's no dancing involved. It's called a "cash mob"- and it's happening right here in Rochester tomorrow.

Janice Gouldthrope is the organizer of Rochester's very first cash mob. She says it worked so well in other cities that she wanted to give it a try here.

"I think it's important that people know what local businesses we have here, and sometimes it's hard for them to advertise on a small business budget," she says.

Here's how it works- Gouldthorpe used social media sites like Facebook to have people vote on the local business where they'd most prefer to spend their money. Over 900 people voted.

The concept of the cash mob is to have shoppers show up at the local store at a specific time and spend a lot of cash. So tomorrow, the lucky store will be Thread on South Avenue.

Manager Sarah Eichas says this couldn't ahve come at a better time. She says the economy has taken a toll on sales.

Checklist to Used Car Buying: More people buy used as the value of pre-owned vehicles increases

Gates Automotive Center has seen an increase in the number of recently purchased used-vehicles that come through the doors of their garage. Fewer people are buying new cars, and the demand and price for used cars is increasing. Kelley Blue Book predicts the new-car sales and leasing slumps of recent years will impact used-car values for years to come. According to Kelley Blue Book’s figures, the average value of a 1 to 3-year-old used vehicle has increased from $15,000 in 2008 to more than $23,000 in 2011, an average increase of 16 percent each year.

Buying a used vehicle right now might make the most sense financially, but Gates Automotive Center President Jim Fonzi warns there are risks that come along with purchasing a pre-owned vehicle. The buyer might think they’re getting a deal, but they could be inheriting a slew of costly repair issues.

The Generosity Store is open for business

The Generosity Store opened its doors today but it's what they do behind the scenes that's really making a difference.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held this morning at the store on Park Avenue and Goodman Street. A portion of the store's proceeds benefits the Golisano Children's Hospital and the School of the Holy Childhood.

The Generosity Store gives the students at School of the Holy Childhood an opportunity to learn about the world of retail but it also gives them so much more and chance to feel like the work they do is really appreciated.

“It takes my breath away every time I walk in here.” Debra Salmon is the director of development and marketing at the School of the Holy Childhood. The school serves children and adults with developmental disabilities in our community.

After Karen Lynch and her husband saw the wonderful things that were going on at the school, they wanted to help out. “We have to find a way.
